The Liveryman Mars Coat King Comb (Coarse) is a new style of stripping knife manufactured from the high quality steel for which the area of Solingen is famous. The knife is fitted with an ergonomically polished hard wood handle for ease of use. Many Cattle and horse showers have seen the benefits of using the Coat King with many seeing the huge benefit on the tails of their horses in particular.
The unique design of these combs makes it possible to strip large areas of coat quickly and easily particularly those animals with thick undercoats. The Coat King is a great tool for both untangling and dematting your animals coat leaving a smooth coat.
The stainless steel blade tips "skid" on the body surface, gliding through the animals coat as you "comb", ensuring that any loose hair is pulled away without causing any pain or stress to the animal. In fact the animal may even enjoy the experience as a scratch relieving itch. For best results the comb should be pulled with very light hand pressure in the direction of the hair growth.
TIP: Only use once a week or every other week as excessive combing can result in bald patches.
Clipper blades have two parts.
The larger bottom blade is called the comb.
The comb feeds the hair into the top, or cutting blade.
The comb blade will have more teeth that the top blade. The comb gathers the hair together and holds it while the top blade moves and slices the hair off.
The cutting blade is moved back and forth very quickly by the clipper motor to cut the hair.
The cutting blade may have less teeth than the comb blade.
