Life-Aid Xtra from Norbrook is a high quality oral rehydration product. It is designed to counteract the processes of dehydration, electrolyte loss and acidosis that accompany scour in calves, whether these symptoms are due to nutritional, bacterial or viral causes. Mixed with water or milk and administered to scouring calves, Life-Aid Xtra supports the stabilisation of water and electrolyte balance. The product contains readily available energy and electrolytes. It comes in a container with 48 sachets of 83.74g.

Prepare a solution, to deliver orally, as follows: dissolve the contents of a single sachet of Life-Aid Xtra in 2 litres (3.5 pints) of warm milk, milk replacer or water. 2 litres of the solution, freshly prepared, should be administered twice daily for 2 days. If the scour is severe, 2 litres of solution should be fed 3 or 4 times daily. The solution may be administered on its own for a maximum of 4 days. Thereafter, normal diet should be resumed.
