ABUS Combination Brass Padlock 65/40 is a CEN security grade 2 and an Abus security level 4 padlock with 6mm shackle diameter, a vertical clearance of 27mm. The Padlock has a resettable 4 code cylinder combination lock mechanism. The ABUS Combination Brass Padlock 65/40 is ideal for securing lighter chains, lockers, tool boxes, ect.

ABUS Brass Padlocks are a comprehensive and very popular padlocks. Made from solid brass. Its internal components are made from non corrosive materials, the precision combination cylinder has mushroom counter pins with paracentric key-way with double bolt locking offering great protection against any sort of manipulation. The shackle is made from hardened steel with NANO Protect coating and the closed shackle version has extra protection for the shackle to increase protection.

ABUS Security Levels Explained

Abus offer their own security level guide along with the CEN grade. This can be used as a guide of how strong the padlock is within it's CEN grade. The security level goes from 1 to 10 with 10 being the most robust security. The higher the rating the bigger the lock, the stronger the Shackle and more more secure the casing.

CEN Grading System Explained

Padlocks in Europe are graded following the CEN Gading system which means any padlock has to meet certain requirements.  CEN grades each padlock from 1 to 6. These range from low security applications such as lockers and toolboxes to high security applications such as locking of freight containers and high value goods. CEN Grade 6 padlocks are very rare and as such most companies would recommend a grade of 3 to 5 for higher security applications.
